Set in 1947 Georgia, Tyler Perry’s latest film A Jazzman’s Blues is a forbidden tale of love and deceit. Joshua Boone and Solea Pfieffer star as Bayou and Leanne, two people who fall in love but struggle to be together due to Leanne’s relatives forbidding the relationship.
Bayou and Leanne eventually split, only to meet again years later now that Bayou is a singing sensation and Leanne has found love with another man. Despite their lives continuing, they can’t fight their passion for one another. They conspire to run away together, but will their pasts keep them from moving on?
Boone and Pfeiffer are joined by Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, and Ryan Eggold as the main cast for the movie. Given the film’s title, you can guess that music plays a pivotal role in the movie. It also features an original song by Ruth B. I wouldn’t be surprised if “Paper Airplanes” is nominated for Best Original Song at the 2022 Academy Awards.
