The Wicked movie cast is adding a Bridgerton member to their ranks! Jonathan Bailey, known for his role in the hit Netflix regency romance drama by Shonda Rimes, has been cast as the eldest Bridgerton sibling Anthony in Jon M. Chu’s “ambitious” two-part adaptation, Wicked.
The stage adaptation of Gregory Maguire’s novel is the basis of the production. It tells the story of Galinda (the Good Witch) and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, the witches from The Wizard Of Oz.
We’re sure you are wondering who the Bridgerton actor in the Universel movie is. Well, we have all the details!
Which Bridgerton actor will Jonathan Bailey portray in Wicked?
The Bridgerton actor has a history of starring in many stage productions. He was cast as Fiyero, Elphaba’s main love interest.
After Variety published a report, reports circulated initially that Bailey was being considered for the role. The director decided that speculation was too much and took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm the news.
He wrote, “He is perfect; they are perfect. They would be perfect together. Born to be forever …. This is too exciting for me to pretend it hasn’t happened. “We have a Fiyero!”
It has been confirmed that Cynthia will star as Elphaba, and Ariana Grande will play Glinda in the Universal production.
It might surprise some people that the movie has been in production for years and has taken many years to reach this point. According to reports, the debut of the first part of Wicked is scheduled for December 25, 2024. The second part will be released theatrically on Christmas Day 2025.
We look forward to seeing more trailers and first looks until the release!
