Netflix revealed the film adaptation of the Newbery-honored Ruth Stiles-Gannett book for children at the beginning of 2018 in the year 2018 however, after many delays and setbacks, the much-anticipated feature film is finally making its way to Netflix televisions in 2022!

After waiting for nearly four years to see the debut of My Father’s Dragon, Netflix has finally revealed the forthcoming animated adaptation. This film is based on the Newbery-honored children’s novel with the same title from Ruth Stiles Gannett — will premiere at the 66th BFI London Film Festival in October 2022!
The stream will be available by the streaming service in November 2022. However, a precise date has not been announced.

The film for families is set to release shortly and features a stellar ensemble to voice the animated characters. The main character, “Boris the Dragon,” is not different actor the actor from Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, who is sure to put an exciting spin on the dragon with a striped pattern. As Elmer Elevator, a runaway Elmer Elevator is Jacob Tremblay, who, at the age of 16, already has an impressive list of voice-over credits and acting credits. “Struggling to cope after a move to the city with his mother, Elmer runs away in search of Wild Island and a young dragon who waits to be rescued. Elmer’s adventures introduce him to ferocious beasts, a mysterious island and the friendship of a lifetime.”
