New Netflix movies and shows coming in October 2022

The Netflix and Chills lineup starts with two thrillers released in September. Many brand new Netflix films and shows will be released in October 2022 to begin the season of spooky movies officially.

Following a slow-going September with an emphasis on Netflix films rather than shows, the month of October is packed with brand new series that you shouldn’t be missing. This month is packed with new Netflix shows, like Midnight Club, Cabinet of Curiosities, and From Scratch.

While there’s plenty to watch as we get closer to Halloween, the streaming site continues to release the film stars to many new releases. Luckiest girl alive, The School for Good and Evil, and The Good Nurse are just some of the films to anticipate during October.

Luckiest Girl Alive

Public Release Date: October. 7

The film is based on the book of the same title written by Jessica Knoll. Mila Kunis is the lead in The Luckiest Girl Alive, playing Ani Fanelli. However, she seems to have everything she wants from the outside. Ani is forced to confront shocking truths about her dark past when a murder documentary brings back those old wounds. The new thriller is sure to be among the best of the month when it opens in October. 7.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow

Public Release Date: October. 14

There’s no Halloween without a new film centered on the holiday. Disney+ has the highly anticipated Hocus Pocus 2 due to release in the latter part of September, and Netflix offers Stranger Things star Priah Ferguson in The Curse of Bridge Hollow. The comedy also features Marlon Wayans and has Halloween-themed decorations coming to life. We must all be watching this in October. 14.

The School for Good and Evil

Public Release Date: October. 19

Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron collaborate with Charlize Theron in The School for Good and Evil, based on the novel with the same title written by Soman Chainani. The film is a fantasy about two best friends who end up on opposite sides of the enchanted school they attend that teaches the right balance between evil and good. The balance is in danger in October. 19.

The Good Nurse

The release date is October. 26

Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne star in the new Netflix film The Good Nurse. Based on actual incidents, Amy (Jessica Chastain) can connect with her fellow nurse Charlie (Eddie Redmayne); however, she starts to suspect that he could cause a series of patient deaths. The Good Nurse premiere on October 26, and you aren’t want to miss this.

From Scratch

The release date is October. 21

Based on the memoir of Tembi Locke From Scratch, The Memoir of Love, Sicily and Finding Home, Zoe Saldana appears in Netflix’s original, limited program from Scratch. In the eight-episode show, Amy (Saldana) travels to Italy to meet a chef’s love and confronts difficulties in their turbulent romance. The romantic drama will have your heart soaring and tears flowing when it airs in October. 21.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities

Public Release Date: October. 25

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities may indeed be one of the most anticipated series of this year. The anthology show, inspired by the filmmaker’s short stories, will air two episodes a day for four consecutive days starting in October. 25. Expect to see actors such as Andrew Lincoln, Ben Barnes, Eric Andre, Rupert Grint, and more in eight intense episodes.
