Trailer for They Cloned Tyrone
Tudum was expecting a tease, but instead, they were given a first glimpse at the film starring Jamie Foxx and John Boyega. If the trailer is any indication, we are in for an exciting ride!
They Cloned Tyrone tells the story of Fontaine (John Boyega) and his friends Slick Charlie (Jamie Foxx) and Yo-Yo [Teyonah Parris], who embark on a journey that uncovers a shocking government conspiracy where targeted Black communities are subject to a mysterious cloning experiment.
They work together to eradicate the evil people at the top and end the dehumanization in their communities. How will they do this when all odds are against them? What other secrets might they uncover along the way? What impact will this expose of the conspiracy have on the rest of the world?
You’ll be able to find the answers to these questions on Netflix’s premiere of They Cloned Tyrone, which will air Friday, December 30, at 9:59 p.m.
Juel Tyler’s first directorial film gives us a pulpy thriller with a sci-fi twist… more than one John Boyega.
Today’s Tudum event saw Netflix release the first official trailer for They Claoned Tyrone. Warning: The language can be quite NSFW if you’re out in public. But, hey, if an unlikely trio discovers they are at the center of a global conspiracy regarding clones, you’d probably be foul-mouthed.
Boyega plays the title Tyrone. He is joined by WandaVision, The Marvels‘ Teyonah Paarris as Yo-Yo, and Jamie Foxx playing Slick Charles. They seem to have discovered a major government conspiracy in which a shadowy tech organization is testing on people and, it seems, cloning them.
The trailer doesn’t show clone shenanigans, except for a short shot of Tyrone’s body on a laboratory table. He and his friends look at it in horror. But there are enough entertaining moments and intrigue that we’re hooked.
“They Cloned Tyrone” will soon be available on Netflix.
