Netflix has a habit of making sequels to action movies; just look at films like Extraction or Red Notice, both successful with audiences, even if not so much with critics. End of the Road is a new high-octane action thriller film starring Queen Latifah, and some fans are already wondering if End of the Road 2 could be made eventually.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem likely that this movie will get a sequel. As of writing this article in September 2022, there have been no updates, but the film is still new as it just came out last week, kicking off the 2022 slate of “Netflix and Chills” for this year.
Below we’ll discuss the odds of End of the Road 2 getting made in the future, but keep in mind this is just speculation as Netflix has not said anything to confirm or deny the existence of a sequel just yet.
Will there be an End of the Road 2 on Netflix?
If I had to guess, I would say there will not be a sequel to End of the Road on Netflix. There is no news to the contrary right now. It’s possible that could change if the movie continues to perform well, as it is currently the #1 film in the Netflix top 10, but it doesn’t seem very likely.
End of the Road got poor critical reviews, and while that doesn’t necessarily mean anything since Netflix has made sequels and renewed shows to other poorly-received projects in the past, the movie doesn’t appear to be endearing to audiences either with an even worse audience score than a critical one.
The movie’s ending wraps up all the storylines in a tidy bow. There could be another villain that comes forward in a potential sequel, but it just doesn’t seem super likely.
